302 INTAKE MANIFOLD INSTALL
Then just have someone install it or do it yourself. PS: I buy almost everything through Summit Racing on-line. Ask questions, people love to talk about their set ups and will most likely fire them up so you can hear them. There are tons of mufflers out there so if it's cost look around and also go by the local cruise nights and check out whats out there and see what sounds good to you. They're stainless, lifetime warranty and sound nice without that raspy sound - more of a deep throaty sound. I prefer MagnaFlow mufflers over Flowmaster but that's just my taste. Like everything, pipe size and material is a cost thing. If your plan is to build this thing for a lot more performance I'd say 2 1/2" pipe with manderal bends would be your best move.

If you're talking middle-of-the-road street car you can get away with a pair of 2" pipes or maybe 2 1/4". It also depends on your motor plans, now or in the future. Are you trying to keep the noise down, do you want it loud or something in between? Are you planning on a drive-in cruiser, weekend racer/street machine or all out performance? Modular Motorsports Ford Performance BOSS 302 INTAKE MANIFOLD 110340 - Adds up to 61 HP and 43 ft-lbs of Torque Original Manifold Found on BOSS 302. Ford Racing Boss 302 intake manifolds feature a huge plenum, coupled with short, straight runners, for increased airflow at upper rpm levels without. They produce incredible top-end horsepower, while retaining good throttle. Like an intake, exhaust design depends on several things too. Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifolds have a high-rise, dual-plane design. That carb will grow with you if additional upgrades are in the future and won't be too big for what you have now. If you're stock, or mostly stock I'd say go with a Holley 600 CFM with vacuum secondaries. You'll also need a good four barrel carb. Keep in mind that an aluminum intake will shave off several pounds too which is always a good thing, not to mention easier on the back to install. Look at the intakes advertised RPM range and use that as your guide.

If you're swapping cams, adding headers, higher compression, bigger carb, etc. A manifold designed for high RPM on a stock, or nearly stock engine will perform worse, not better. Bigger is not better when it comes to intakes.

You'll need a dual plane manifold that makes power in the idle to 5000 RPM range. RPC square bore, dual plane intake manifolds add performance, improved throttle response and increased torque to your small block Ford 289-302 engines.
302 INTAKE MANIFOLD UPGRADE
If you're running a stock low compression engine with mostly stock drivetrain and are only looking at an intake upgrade I'd say a Edlebrock Performer, not the Performer RPM.
